Importing to Greece With TradeWise as Your Importer of Record

Greece is a fast-growing tech market and a key gateway between Europe, Asia and the Middle East. New data centres, 5G networks and digital public services all need IT equipment. Importing to Greece needs an EU EORI number, CE-marked products and a correct declaration with Greek customs. Sea cargo also needs safety data filed before it is even loaded. We act as your importer of record in Greece and manage every filing for you.

ICS2 Safety Data Before Your Cargo Is Loaded

Every shipment to Greece needs its safety and security data filed before arrival, and for sea containers before loading.

ICS2, the EU's Import Control System 2, needs an Entry Summary Declaration (ENS) for goods entering the EU. For containers by sea, the ENS must be filed at least 24 hours before the goods are loaded at the foreign port. Air cargo needs early data before loading too. The ENS covers the shipper, consignee, goods description and commodity code. Vague descriptions such as "parts" or "electronics" are rejected.

What Greek Customs Checks Before Your Goods Are Released

Greece Compliance Regulations

These are the Greece import regulations for IT equipment, the authorities and rules your goods must satisfy before they can be sold or used. Do I need an importer of record in Greece? If you have no EU entity or Greek VAT number, yes. TradeWise can take that role.

Most Important for Tech Imports

CE Marking

CE marking shows that a product meets EU rules. For IT and telecom gear, this usually covers the Low Voltage, EMC, Radio Equipment and RoHS directives. Each product needs an EU declaration of conformity and a technical file, and the importer's details must appear on the product or packaging. In Greece, EETT, the telecom regulator, checks radio equipment on the market. TradeWise checks your files to speed up Greece import customs clearance.

AADE Customs

Greek customs collects duty and import VAT and runs ICISnet.

EETT

The telecom and post regulator manages radio spectrum and checks radio devices.

EOAN

The national recycling body oversees producer registration for electrical goods.
